How do you all get good shots at strange angles like down low or up overhead? Is it just one of those bend like a pretzel and hope for the best kind of moments? Is there a trick to it? I have a vari-angle on my point and shoot and I think I spoiled myself. Just wanted suggestions for when I buy my SLR! Sorry if I'm asking such a dumb question. :blushing:

Eh, the only dumb question is that which is not asked.

Sometimes it entails some strange bending. Learning how to stabilise the camera in these positions is key. Getting on one knee (squatting is rather tipsy), bending at the knees to vary the viewing angle while looking through the viewfinder, or sitting with legs bent and forward, feet flat, to help stability, for example. To get up high, a step ladder helps, but carrying a step ladder is silly most of the time (e.g. events), so using one's environment to the fullest is important too.
