Shot A Wedding Last Weekend With My Point-N-Shoot Canon A710 IS

Hmm... now you guys got me thinking! I got a wedding on the 7th. I could borrow a point and shoot from work and start using that before pulling out my regular camera. But... she's so afraid that everything is going to go wrong that I may freak her out. Her groom might crack up though.

Actually, for a wedding with well controlled light, an A710 IS could well do the job!

Some more effort in post-processing then maybe.

The photos were... well... on camera flashed.

I didn't like the way he posed a lot of the people.

actually, one should not use the flash of that camera ... and the posing, well, that is a different problem ;)

bust out my cardboard box . . . alright now stand there exactly like you are for the next five minutes.

Now you KNOW I couldn't let this rest....

I did Engagement shots, and several portraits, and a bunch of other shots with my Canon A610....

I think they came out OK:

Now they might not be the BEST... but I'm telling you, if it was an outdoor wedding/reception, or somewhere REALLY well lit, you could do it!

I once got a wedding booking from an out of state customer. She mailed the check and signed and returned the contract without ever seeing me. I was tempted to borrow a seeing eye dog harness for the wedding. I thought if I showed up with a seeing eye dog it would be a great joke. Then I thought of the lawsuit if the bride or her mother had a heart attack.

Nice shots by the way
