    hmm i dont think ill worry abiout it , it wont be right for the kinda of really close macro shots i want

    If you are after a true macro lense I can highly recommend the Sigma 105mm EX macro, I got mine for £350 and have loved it. The quality is awesome and the lense is really nice to use in manual mode, the only downside is that it has a terrible AF system. Keep it in manual at all times. It's also great as a portrait lense, a good length and it provides great depth of field.
