Should I keep BOTH my 35mm and 50mm 1.8G Primes?

Always keep it for 6months / year. If you havent used it by then ditch it. That goes with basically everything else you own also.

If money is so tight, skip the restaurants a few times! Eat some peas and toast its good for you.

Yes, keep both the 35 and the 50mm prime lenses. Each is a different tool. I like the 35mm focal length on FX, and the 50mm focal length is useful as well, especially on DX.
