Shutter remote

I have a Nikon D40 and would like to get a shutter remote for it. What would you recommend? I'm new at this and want to be sure to get something that is good but won't break the bank. Thanks for your help.

No connection between you and the camera. I have triggered up to 4 camera's at once with it, D70, D80, D90

Pretty good chance if you upgrade the body, it will work on anything in the future.
