    Hi folks

I am teaching a photography class to mainly middle aged women with little or no computer skills. As part of my course I want to run a few classes on the basics of photo editing on a PC. I have used photoshop myself in the past but I need a FREE easily downloadable editing program which will introduce my class to the basics. I downloaded GIMP but that is way to complex for what we will be doing. I am looking for something similar to the user friendly iPhoto that comes with macs (but free and for PCs). The functions i need include

    Cropping
    Red eye reduction
    Rotating image
    Basic adjustments (contrast etc.)
    and other basics

Any advice as to the best free software out there?

    Replies are greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Luke

Try Google's Picasa, it's free and does all those things.

Or Windows Picture Viewer if on a PC, and you won't have to download anything.

Splashup is one I have used in the past for emergency photo editing. Workes really good and is free!

I have just started using a new program that's just come out. It's been specifically design for for family type camera users. It's a viewer, editor and organizer. Windows based http://www.photosurfer.com
It's been great and simple to use

Google's Picasa is fairly easy to use, but I have not come across a PC app as user-friendly and powerful as iPhoto
