Boy, ya sure can tell a long lens was used! I'm going to guess between 400mm and 500mm at about f/5.6 ~ f/8

I think it would also look interesting with the bottom 40% cropped off.

Agree'd on the crop.

Great capture, could be a littler sharper but that's not the kind of shot you have time to set up. Unfortunately it's probably a little too dark for print - I'm wondering how well it would come out if you do a black and white conversion and play with the contrasts?
