Is Smith Victor a good and reliable source to buy beginner studio lighting kits from? Thanks.

Smith Victor has been around for a long time, I bought some of their photoflood lights over 20 years ago and they still work fine. But I think most lighting kits when you learn how to use them will do the job for you. Take a good lighting course and do the proper testing with whatever lights you get and you will be all set.
