Hey everyone,
I recently got a rebel xsi and was asked by a friend to be his photographer when the snowboarding season starts up again.
I was wondering what lenses I should be using?
A fisheye lens is common to use for snowboarding, so any suggestions?
I don't want to be spending a lot of money for just one lens,
so nothing that is $800 please.

This is a misconception with snowboard, skate and BMX photography, as most of these photographers use wide angle lenses, not fisheyes. Try to find something between 10-24mm in focal length, and it would be wise to get a short telephoto as you can't always be right up in the action. A fisheye is simply a novelty that some starting photographers overuse and their photos become redundant. There is a time and place for them, but not for every shot. You'll get more versatility from a wide zoom lens too if you want to shoot things other than snowboarding (landscapes, etc.).
