like in most of the wedding photography, you will see a man behind a women somewhat faded out, but is this a setting, or am i unaware of a pp effect?

also the collages, another program? and if so what are you using for a program.

Are you talking about a small depth of field? This is a function of lens aperture. The larger the aperture the narrower the depth of field (the in focus part). This is why that cheap 50mm f/1.8 is so darn useful :)

Or are you talking about soft focus, where people literally seem to glow or be out of focus yet you can still see every slight detail. This can also be done on the camera lens via a soft focus filter, a soft focus lens, or it can be done in about 100 different ways in photoshop.

It would help to post an image or a link to one your description is a little vague.

Objects are not exactly you have mentioned but you can notice the effect. This is nothing but 50mm f/1.8 that Garbz mentioned.

Thats depth of field. Or.. short depth of field in this case due to a large aperture. Checkout this link for some info.
