Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
a few from a recent college softball game -- shooting from behind the fence, not easy to get the action shots!

(with a Canon 60D)

I think they're great!

I'm not used to softball pics , I'm (accept cycling) not realy a sports fotographer. I' d love to see some exifs. All the action is frozen, isn't it nicer to get a hint of movment?

Agreed. You did well!

While this is alot of personal preference, and this is artwork and therefore highly subjective you don't ever see any motion blur in professional sports photos (Sports illstrated, etc). For certain sports some motion blur is nice (motocross for blurred wheels, etc), however I think that the overwhelming majority of professional sports shooters and magazine editors prefer crisp, frozen action. The emotion of the photos comes from capturing the peak of the action and the emotion on a players face, IMHO.

There is always room for experimentation, and this is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

all those were shot at 1/2500, f5.6 - sports like baseball, soccer, field sports, etc. are more about freezing the action than using a slow shutter speed to show "motion" (which can be done but more difficult!)

Action is hard ... but you did a good job. In some shots you seem to have a lot of DOF, were you shooting wide open?

yes, wide open on the 100-400 (V1) is usually f5.6
now if I had a 400 2.8 that would reduce DOF !
