Some pictures around the house, gettin a feel for my camera. Please let me know what needs to be done as i am a noob in the field!

1 & 2 are very interesting
3 & 4 less so
a common tip is to fill the frame with the subject
try playing around with your light source with #3, exaggerating or softening the shadow might help

What I'm seeing from these images is someone who wantst to take photographs, but isn't quite sure what makes a good subject. I'm not sure I can help you with that; I've been doing this for twenty-five years and I still have problems with that... However, maybe you can give us a little insight into the sort of pictures you would like to take, or the sort of result you hope to achieve and we can provide some help in that direction.

C&C per req:

1. Interesting; might work better as a B&W conversion; the red at the bottom is rather distracting. Perhaps a 3/4 view more at the wall rather than down would have been better?

2. Good idea, however the leaves were too close to make this one really work.

3. Agree with Jason's comments on the lighting, also suggest that perhaps getting in much closer (just a head shot) might have helped.

4. Rather uninteresting I'm afraid
