Nevermind the haters who said they're awful. They're not bad. Some of them have issues, yeah. But these show me that you're grasping some of the beginner concepts of photography, which is good (not awful at all). I'm no expert, but anyone who says these are awful, has taken photos of the same quality when they were starting out. Everyone does.

I will suggest you not crop your shot QUITE as close. Keep all of the subject in the shot, some of these are too tightly cropped (like only part of one of the flags, Lincoln's knuckle, etc.).

Keep it up. And don't do polls. You need to know what people like and dislike, not if they do or not.

Geez people, these are not awful. He's got the exposure nailed on them, focus is on, and you can tell he at least thought about the composition. Just because you don't like the style or the subject matter is what you would consider common doesn't mean these shots are terrible. There have been far worse shots (technically) posted on this forum and nobody has called them awful. If you truly feel that way, don't hide behind the anonymity of a poll and justify your choice.

Welcome to the forums Nolan, keep shooting!

thanks guys its nice to hear from you. I plan to keep your suggestions in mind when i am out and about with my camera.
