...I have been spending a lot of time behind the lens lately. here are some things i have come up with.
I drive by this on the way home from the job site every day and have been eyeballing it for quite some time. Its a man made spill way under a bridge. the light is always too hot but this evening close to dusk it was overcast and drizzly so i seized the moment. shot with a 75-300 lens, tripod, timer. iso 400 and shutter speeds between 3.2 and 4 seconds.

next some shots I grabbed while I was doing some work for a flyfishing guidebook.

My  - what on earth is happening in the last!?!?!? That one's cool.

Some are a tad too contrasted with the highlights very near to being all blown out --- but that little building close to the water spill is neat! Someone really tested their abilities to construct and placing the keystone just right! :D

In the icicles-from-below pic (numbers and spaces would have been more helpful, mind you...) ... why did you not include the tips of those big icicles... would have given even more of a feeling of imminent danger (in case they break off and pierce us, the viewers!).

well they were around six feet long and in order to get the tips I would have had to lay in a puddle of half frozen water to get to the tips of them. Unfortunately it was a little cold for that!

as far as the crazy light picture...it snowed and a truck slid off the road and knocked a fire hydrant out of the ground. the fire department came to direct traffic through the geyser of water...I did a long exposure to get the road detail and right before the end of the exposure a car came sliding in behind me on the snow and i had to pick up the camera and move rather quickly which gave the crazy light tracer things.
