well, i just got photoshop elements and im still learning to use it.
i've got some stuff being scanned but wont have it till later so i have been going through some older shots and just exploring the waters of photoshop.
any helpfull hits would be sweet.

First and third work - especially the first. I think I would try and lighten the shadows in the third to try and give it more impact. Keep experimenting - remember it is you that needs to be pleased with the result -not us old buffers out in the ethos. . . . but it is a nice feeling when others share your pleasure.

Like the first one very much. As a suggestion though, if it had been mine, I think I'd have backed off the contrast a touch and let a few more mid tones in, though you might get a pleasing effect by simply raising the brightness levels.
