    I want to sell my N80, 24-120 and 18-70 for a 16-85 VR and 50mm f/1.8.

I bought the N80 in August or September and i've only used it once with little desire to use it again.

I never use the 24-120 since the 18-70 is far more useful and I don't shoot film anymore.

I can sell my 18-70 since the 16-85, which is basically the same thing, but sharper and has VR. It would be more useful.

50mm AF-D's are sold all the time at my school by other students.

I can do this and pay maybe $20 when all is said and done.

I can get a used 17-55 for $900 off craigslist, I used to own the 17-55, but after using the 18-70 and 16-85 have no real desire for the 17-55 again. The 18-70 and 16-85's are just as sharp, and I don't need f/2.8 at the wide end.

This sucks because I absolutely love my 18-70, it weighs nothing and is just as sharp as my 17-55 was, but the build quality is just horrible, and the 16-85 isn't bad.

something is wrong with me. Stupid N.A.S

Why don't you just sell the N80 and the 24-120 and get an 85mm and a monopod?

I'd be willing to bet Thousands of your dollars that you would get a lot more mileage out of the 85mm and it's f:1.4/8 making bokeh. :)

I have an 80-200 f/2.8 that I use for portraits in the 80mm range. I usually don't shoot it at f/2.8, so the advantages of it wouldn't really be worth the cost.

The 50mm would be more useful for when the working distance needs to be closer and the low light stuff. The 16-85 would be used more on the wide end then the telephoto anyway.

I can sell the 24-120 and N80 and get a sigma 10-20 and keep the 18-70, hmmm.....

Horrible build quality on the 18-70mm? Ok sure it's no gold ring lens, but for one think it's the best built sub $500 lens I have ever seen.

Anyway why is this wrong with you? If you have no need for f/2.8 don't buy an f/2.8 lens. Now if you come back complaining about the depth of field then there's something wrong with you ;)
