Spooky Fungi

    This is really wierd. Mushrooms keep popping up in different places in my garden (with no sign of them the evening before) and then dying in a day or two. At most they are 2-3 inches tall. Is this typical? This is my first vegetable garden since I moved to Phoenix from Philadelphia 10 years ago.

    nice shots. The striations on the middle mushroom in the second photo kind of make my eyes go wonky trying to focus on it, but I like the composition.

    That kind of mushroom, if it's the kind I'm thinking of, is known for popping up in moist, rich soil in mid spring and not lasting very long. Unfortunately, they aren't good to eat.
