I had a family friend contact me about doing her son's birthday pictures.
She would like to make a sports card for him to send out in the invitation because his birthday his sports themed. I was honest that i didnt not know how to do this but i would look into it.

has any one done anything similar or could you point me in a starting direction?

Nearly every printer I've bought has had a piece of software bundled with it to do the sort of thing you describe - never used them, so I can't comment on how well they work, but might be worth a go if you can find one.
