I see you added vinegette, I would assume to tone down the blowout in the top left?

Was a tough combo... noontime sun glaring on the background and foreground while the tree provided shade over the squirrel.

yeah noon is probably the worst time of day to shoot.. The overhead light can be harsh.
If you had the warm glow of an afternoon sun on your back facing him, and you baited him (I bring little food bits and throw them out and draw them in), you might have a shot at some fun captures. I have had them get so close they will grab food from your hand like a cartoon squirrel.
