Strange little insect [updated with new pictures]

I was moving in for a shot on a jumping spider, who.. well.. jumped away into some leaf litter, and I noticed this little spec of dirt crawling around

It's incredible, there's no way you'd ever see him if he wasn't moving. He's piled up dirt from around the area over his back, like a ghillie suit. I'm loving this photography stuff more and more every day

Wow, just when you thought your backyard couldn't get more alien, this guy makes another apperance. Not sure if this was material he picked up for camo or what, he wasn't too hard to spot on this leaf.

No alien bugs were harmed in the making of these photos

Heh heh, that little "backpacking" bug is really strange, I like it.. wonder what they do with all the dirt and fuzz they collect. Love the new beetle photo as well, awesome shot and great composition.
