I was wondering how you achieve a subtle vignette in Photoshop?

What I usual do is add a Light Effect and turn it into a omni. but the wider I make it it over exposes the middle where the light is hitting, I try to turn down the intensity but it's just not getting what I want.

If there is another way or if that is the way to do it and I am doing incorrectly, please let me know!

Thank you!

Harvey

Well You can do it like this:
1. Create a new layer over the photo and fill it with black.
2. Add to the new layer a blend mode of "Soft Light"
3. Add to the layer a mask fill it with black, then paint the mask with white with a big and very soft brush over the edges where you want the vignette.

Then you can play with the opacity to obtain the desired effect.

Have fun :)

I usually just copy a new layer then use the burn tool to add a vignette.

thanks for the help!!!!! Much appreciated!

I used a gradated layer and adjust the blending properties to get the effect I want
