Lesson 5. Once you learn you never forget how to ride a bicycle. Same with photography. Practice will bring your former skills back and will help you improve on those skills.
I started shooting surfing back in the late 60's, got published once and graced many a board shop. Then one day some chick recovered my board and the next thing I knew I had a son, then a real job, then another son, bigger house and then a daughter, I didn't touch a camera for 10 yrs. My wife surprised me one day with some new gear ( copying the gear I sold with next gene) and I started shooting again, few months later I was asked to shoot architectural crap, next thing I knew I had stuff hanging in offices and conference rooms, I quit again after a couple yrs. cuz it just didn't interest me. Then I started racing Desert Off-road and another 10 yrs went by without touching a camera until I crashed and that ended that fun, so I broke out the camera again and started shooting race photos and within two months I was selling them, was a contributing shooter for SDOR and CN, and then when my wife got sick I quit again.
So, in the last 51 years quit 3 lengthy times and now I'm starting all over again and this time I'm going back to film, just haven't decided whether to go 35 or MF, but either way I'm going to burn threw the film, read everything I can and listen to these guys here to a certain extent and in no time I'll be as bad as I ever was.
