Sunflowers

When I went out riding my bike a couple of weeks ago I stumbled accross a field full of sunflowers. The next day I walked miles out into the middle of the farm and took some photos.

I have to say I perfer the second one over the first, only because Im a sucker for filling the frame. Maybe a little sharpening and youll be in business

Thanks i'll have a go at sharpening a touch more.

Hmm I think I may have oversharpened it a touch now. I replaced the original.

I love the second one, the way it fills the frame but leaves just a little of open space at the top, with that excellent DOF. Great job!

Next time, lie down between them and shoot UP. You can get beautiful stuff that way. Remember Rule #523 of photography: Don't worry about looking stupid - just get the shot.

I like the shots and the DOF is OK but it would have been nice if the lighting was better.
If my memory is correct don't sunflowers always face the sun?

These were making an effort to face exactly the opposite direction to the sun so I had to be careful about getting lens flare in some of the shots.
