Sunset pics C&C

[Boutte]

I went out to Lakeshore Dr (New Orleans) which was once voted one of the beautiful spots in the country to view the sunset. There was a huge black cloud in front of the sun so most of the shots were pretty blase. For a few minutes though it was spectacular. The pictures don't really do it justice but here they are anyway.


This was a tough shoot because of the lighting. Any suggestions and comments will be most welcomed.

Yeah, but I wanted to get those rays to show up as much as possible.

I love #2. I might crop down the top a little bit to have less of the blue sky, but that's just me and it's still great.

These images are pretty dramatic...but the horizon isn't level in the last three (it's a hair off in the first one).

I like the second photo the best. It gets the balance right, whereas the others don't looks quite right somehow.

i use DPP for the Raw image then convert and use Gimp.
