surprise visitor!!

So I was hoping to get a nice shot of the bumble bees on the dandelions outside, this guy is not a bumblebee obviously but I was able to get pretty close...

I would have liked to have taken this with a bit more depth of field, but I heard a stick breaking in the not so far distance ... my dog went bounding over there. I went around the shed to have a look and she had a bear up in a tree. I called my dog off, and here it is just after it had climbed down:

I went and armed myself with a shovel and a longer lens and waiting on high ground while it wandered out into the open. It's looking at my dog in this shot:

Thanks! I've been seeing a lot of bears lately, I saw two more yesterday evening but none with any cubs. Those are the ones you gotta watch out for. This guy looked up whenever my dog or I made a noise but was comfortable enough to continue eating grass. A tripod would have been nice, but i am glad my lens had VR at least cuz it still gets the adrenaline going

I'm still trying to figure out which I'm more afraid of - the bee or the bear. Ok, the bear. All nice shots but #3 is super!
