Wow, awesome shots. I definitely like the second one best. What kind of swan is this? I want to say either trumpeter or mute, but I'm not up to speed on my swans. :lol:

Yes, I think it was one male chasing another male away. Must be mating season. The first one went across some ice and the poor thing was skidding along and flapping like crazy trying to take off.

I like #8, looks like it's balancing on it's tail.
 
Fascinating series, Airic. You've really captured them at many stages (flying, fighting, swimming, landing etc.). The first one is gorgeous...there's something about the curve of the wing, and the white-against-grey that is very striking. The landing pics make me smile, as I've seen the difficulty they have landing on ice.
 
Even though i hate swan pictures (for personal reasons) i have to admit 1 and 2 are very nice, the neck s in two is really pretty and the first one is great because fo the capture.
