Hi
Does the following lense work with the nikon d500?
Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD G2

I have the chance to buy one but the write up says it's fx format

Will it still fit the d500 dx format and work fine?

Thanks

Of course it will work. BTW, good lens.

Yes you can use lenses designed for cameras with a full frame sensor (like a Nikon D750) with a crop frame camera(like your D500). The smaller sensor on the crop frame will only capture the center part of the image so the lense will function as a greater telephoto lens than it does on the full frame body. I personally use a 105 mico Nikkor and a Tamron 150-600 with my D7500. Both of these lenses are designed for full frame FX but work great on my crop frame. However, you should not expect lenses designed for a crop frame camera (Nikon DX) to work well with a Full Frame camera (Nikon FX). As a rule, these lenses do not produce an image that will completely cover the full frame sensor.
