This is a tree in Beacon Hill Park in Victoria, B.C.

I really like it, but something in the back of my mind is saying that I'd like to see more contrast in the image, or a shallower depth of field (e.g. the trees farther away slightly blurry), but that would make a cool desktop image!

This has some nice, soft light to it ... did this one come off the camera like this or did you apply something to it later to make it so soft.
Unlike astrostu, I think it is ok that you chose the DOF you chose, you want to show the "Tangled Tree", and therefore all its being "tangled" needs to be seen, and not only part of it.
But that may well also be a matter of taste.

All in all I think this one is Nature/Landscape enough for the photo to move over to the Landscape and Nature Gallery ;).

its like something out of my nightmares

Like it!!

nice shot... love the warmth of the light...

All I did in PS, LaFoto, was mess with Curves a little bit, but no softening or Gaussian Blurs were applied. Thanks so much everyone for all the compliments.
