I am trying to take pictures from inside of the snow outside. its a cloudy day with alot of snow falling. When I try to tether it up to my computer, all I get is gray pictures.

When I take take it not tethered and having it save to my memory card it shoots fine.

Sometimes I can get a picture, but its very blurry and the quality is low. I'm shooting with a nikon D700. anyone have any tips? Thanks

One part of the problem may be that whenever you shoot something white, the camera's meter is fooled and it gives you exposure settings that will turn the white grey...so you need to add exposure (positive exposure compensation) in order to make it white again.

As for why it would be different while tethered....I don't know. Maybe it's due to the difference between your computer screen and the camera's LCD.
