The Amish are a religious group who live in settlements in 22 states and Ontario, Canada.
The oldest group of Old Order Amish, about 16-18,000 people live in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
The Amish stress humility, family and community, and separation from the world.

You stole their souls! I was in Lancaster years ago with my parents and stayed there for a few days. We saw several amish and I was amazed to learn that they wouldn't allow their picture to be taken. I tried to make it back last year on my way back from the NE but didn't make it down that far into PA.
Anyway, good shots. I noticed the "Got Milk" sticker too.

yesterday on my way home from work I came across a Amish family in a buggy returning from the local grociery store. I was amazed to see 4 cases of Mt Dew in the back next to all the bags. I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me. I guess even the Amish can't the powers of the Mt Dew

Wow, nice natural looking colors/colours.
Were al these pictures taken with the S1 Powershot?

How did you get the sharp focus on the house in the second picture?
There is no manual focus on the S1, right?
I would assume that the camera would focus on the fence and not on the house...
