The lowest place on earth (1369 ft below sea level).
The name in hebrew is "The Salt Sea" because 37% of it are salts and minerals. because of the salt, there are no sea animals and fish live in it, so it called also the dead sea..

You can read more about it if you would like - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea

And now to the photos:

Thanks for looking

these sets of pictures are great!! i especially like the first one in number 3

Good captures! I really like the rich colour in the panos, as well as how the one with the hands in the sea bring it all together.
The only part I remember about my Dead Sea visit was being able to float :| (Like every other silly tourist. ha) Can't say I will ever have that oppurtunity again.

Wow. All these are great!
I have never been to Israel and only know about The Dead Sea from reports on TV or in books or papers ... and my sister has been.
It looks like a place to explore! Too cool.
Putting your photos together in viewcard style enhances them greatly!
And I am quite fascinated by the reflection in the sunglasses. Was he your guide?
