The lower tones look a bit "plugged up" or compressed to me, giving an overall very dark and dismal appearance to this scene. I would like to see the shadows lifted up a bit,and given more clarity. I like how the guy in the bow tie is bucking the trend,and is walking opposite of the vast majority of people there.
 
You even put a vignette around your photos which adds to the impression of darkness or even gloom, and that got me a little disappointed with this photo. I don't remember the Royal Mile to be this gloomy. But hey, that's just me!

Scotland is just that gloomy :p
I was actually in Edinburgh today, the Fringe Festival was on. So many people were trying to give us flyers!

I like the photo btw, it makes you see how busy Edinburgh can be :thumbup:
