The spider doesn't always win

This goes into the category of things that could have been much better if my timing had been better.

I walked up just as this battle was finishing, fired off a burst of 4 shots before the spider fell from his web and the bee as if sensing my presence flew off. I tried to find the spider in the tall grass and the bee kept coming back and flying around the general area, as if he were looking for his fallen foe. I just take the pictures, I am no insect expert. Do some species of bees prey on spiders?
