First it is good to see you post some again. Hope all is well.

I really think the image and frame seem to go with one another. A square or rect. frame would not of given the sense of feeling I get from this one. Also like we are peering into this one mans world, just a glimpse. Barring his soul in this one.

'bout the only thing i would point out is contrast- but this could be low due to the scan.
i was also gonna say something about the shadow behind his profile, but that's obviously nothing you can fix now and perhaps even if you could, doing so would alter the mood you achieved...
