I'd recommend the G9.

My G9 is my camera of choice for lightweight travel and when I don't want to lug the 30D and kit around.

now i have a lean towards the g9 plus it will run off my other batteries, so i can bring those 3 and i can find a cheap card for $50 bucks since i've found g9's for like $450
