Thinking about buying a 1d mIII off ebay

There are some used 1d mIIIs on ebay right now. What are my risks? If I buy the camera and pay with paypal and I don't get the camera or the camera comes to me and is broken or defective, what can I do?

Do I contact paypal and return the camera or get my money back?

I'm going to the NAIA turnament next week and want a 2nd body. I don't want to have to switch between two lens. I would like to have one lens on one body and another lens on the other body.

Just wondering, never bought a used camera before.

Not all sellers are bad on ebay. Adorama, Beach Camera, Dell and many more good sellers are on ebay.

You just need to do more research. And sometimes, there are bargains there.

I bought my brand new EF 85mm F/1.8 lens from Beach Camera (Canon authorized dealer) via ebay. With the sales price, instant rebate, it cost me less than $310 shipped. It is about the same for a used copy.

They send the lens with their own invoice. So no issue with warranty.
