    Hi there,

When moving from a 35mm SLR to digital I found it confusing when deciding on a lens (because of the smaller digital sensor compared to 35mm film). Anyway, I created this visual calculator to help me, and think you people may find it useful too:

Let me know what you think. I am always trying to improve it, so any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Hi everyone,

I have updated the lens calculator so that it now displays field of view too (it still displays angle of view). Please let me know if you spot any errors in this new release.

    Hey Mark,
Looks pretty good to me, you do much of this sort of thing?

    Hi RJ,

    Thanks :D

I mainly do server-side work (web applications), but like to dabble elsewhere...

    Cheers,
