This or That?

I recently took this photo and have just started working with it. I've come to two conclusions and can't decide which one brings out more of the photo, asthetically speaking. Which one makes the photo looks its best?

This is is the more 'black and white' approach. It's not exaclty black and white, but there isn't much color.

This is the color attempt. It's not full color, more of a muted color.

Also....I'm not sure if the lights reflecting off the bass are adding to the ambiance of the performance, or distracting the viewer from the subject. What do you guys think? Thanks guys!

I like the colour version more.

The light flares aren't distracting to me either.

Great photo. It really captured the performance's vibe well.

I like the more 'vintage' feel of the muted color one. The light flare isn't distracting since it's a band photo

I dont think the light is distracting. at first it pulled my eyes there, but really only for a second, so it's not overwhelming. I'd decide on which picture to use by the style of music being played. More modern music I'd leave the colored version, and if it was more of a jam band/jazz or whatever leave it your B&W rendition (which is awesome because its not full B&W). Hope that makes sense.
