Has anyone here own one or had one?

Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter 77VND B&H Photo

I've really been interested in buying one to do long exposures during the day or using large aperture for "bokeh" shots during a bright sunny day or for video work.

I know Hoya makes better ones but a little more expensive and this Tiffen while I'm not a huge fan of them seems like this particular variable ND filter gets positive reviews and has 8 stops of filtration for only $130. Not bad at all.

So I was just curious if anyone here at TPF has one or has owned one would could be kind of to give me your thoughts on it.

I'm open for suggestions as well.

Thanks!!

I've read they are basically a couple of CPL filters, back-to-back.

some can cause some "X" marks on images too due to the dual soft GNDs that each element is. There's plenty on the internet about them, you need to find reviews of that specific model to find out. Some are very poor, others okay.
