I found the D3000 can do this effect in camera, havent found a situation to use it in yet though

i went down there this christmas to try and get a few sunrise shots. came back freezing... with nothing good.

Here is a link to a page where some guy built his own. Think I am going to find an old inexpensive MF wide zoom lens and build one myself.

Since one would be shooting manual anyway, doesn't have to be a Nikon lens in my case, anybody have a suggestion for a good lens to use?
