Time to come into the 21st century!

Howdy!

I started my photography "career" as a child with a 110 Instamatic. After expressing an interest in taking "real" pictrures, my dad handed me his Canon Pellix and told me to figure out how to use it. After 25+ years of faithful service, it is still going strong, but ... I would like to finally enter the 21st century and update to a DSLR.

I am looking at the Canon Rebel XTi as a replacement. I also realize that the lenses that have served me so well all these years won't work on whatever new camera I buy, so I will also need new lenses (and probably a new flash, etc.). And, I realize that PhotoShop will most likely be part of my future, so I will have to learn all about that, too.

My goal is to upgrade my equipment and skills so I can start making money in the photography field (as soon as I find my niche).

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and sharing ideas.

So have you made up your mind as to what to get to "enter the 21st century" .
And is there a possibility for you to scan some of your prints from the Pellix-times and show us?
