    haha, someone tell me what this stands for. i know it has something to do with medium format, but i havent been able to find a definition.

    twin lens reflex.


    what that means is,there is one lens for focusing, and one for the actual recording of the image to film.

    Most TLRs are medium format, but there are 35mm TLRs and large format TLRs. Search for Peter Gowland; he builds large format TLRs called Gowlandflexes. Someday I'll have one. :D

    ohhhh TWIN. ok, thankyou.

    cause i knew that the S in SLR was for single, so when I saw a T it threw me off. you'd think it would be DLR for double. *shrug*

    I love it, except that you need two large format lenses for every focal length you want. It's on my wish list, next to winning the lottery...

    Look further down the page for a 5x7 TLR, and even an 8x10 TLR (4x5 veiwing lens/8x10 taking lens))!!

    Too cool 8)
