In another thread I asked you what plant has these flowers (which I find really beautiful!)...

... and gave you these leaves as a second hint ...

... and no one guessed the plant.

    It is tobacco.
Yes, in bicycle distance here in the North of Germany, where you expect potatoes, wheat, rye, barley or corn to grow in the fields, there is this one big exception: a tobacco field:

And to get the flower photo, I had to stretch my arms high above my head and let the camera do the rest - short as I am, I did not reach up that high "naturally" ;).

Who would have thought that tobacco has such lovely flowers, eh?

    No. No smell at all.
Not even in the room where a gang of three sorted through piles of dried tobacco leaves (I did not dare to take any photos in there after the "boss's" wife had told me her husband was "so against a journalist" [!] :D writing a story about his tobacco crop). No smell at all.

Help me decide which photo to choose for the Local Paper Photo Competition, Raymond, will you (thread further down).

    I am against smoking.
But the tobacco is a nice plant. I like your photos, little sister.
If you had to make long arms for the photo, I would never have reached the blossom!
    Your bigger but shorter sister.

Thank you for commenting, "bigger but shorter sister" :D hee-hee.
One need not be a smoker to like tobacco plants! You know I don't smoke, either. And I was still surprised and happy to see what a lovely, exquisite flower something like tobacco can produce! And I love the colour of the leaves (Canoncan will be most surprised to hear me say so!!!).
