Just received this lens today, just in time for the Braves vs Phillies game. I hope it is ok to post these here, I have not seen a forum for sports.

    4. It was all down hill for the Phillies after these last 2 shots. It was a hell of a game. Atlanta coming back after being down 6 runs.

Awesome shots, just love 'em all! You froze the action very well, and I'm so jealous of your 70-200 f.2.8

By the way: Please post more sports pictures
I need to find a good lens for volleyball pictures, but first the money.

I also have this lens and its fantastic and it shows it here with your shots!!

Did you think you might need more zoom for these types of shots? Say 400mm ?

AWESOME shots! I love them. I can't help but be partial though because I'm a life-long diehard Braves fan. :D

I agree the first is amazing, but so is stopping the action on the ball off Diaz's bat!

I can't deny that having more reach would have been nice. For the first picture I was in a 3rd level seat out by the right field foul pole. For the rest of the shots you see here I had moved to a 3rd level seat above home plate looking straight down the 3rd base line. More reach would be nice, but not absolutely necessary, I will probably get a 1.4 teleconverter.

Just wanted to add: Take a look at the first photo, see the photographer in the upper left corner? I want his lens!

Love that first pic but I think the next one half a second later with the runner kicking up a cloud of dust and the ball arriving at the catcher would have been even better.

For shooting from the (relatively speaking) cheap seats, they all have amazing clarity.

I just wish I had him touching the plate, oh well I tried :meh:. As you can see he did beat the ball and was SAFE!

Great shots, very nice. Only other crit I could make is it would be nice if #3 had the ball in the shot leaving the bat as in #4. But still a nice clear shot.
