I'm going to vegas in Mar and plan to leave the 70-200 at home and just take the 24-70 with me, thanks for the notes on the 200.

I dragged my Nikon 80-200 f2.8D with me in Arizona & Utah, hiking, etc... for a week. I used it once.
Geez... Had it with me for possible wildlife, etc... but never saw anything.

To be fair, I didn't mosey far off the Strip and Fremont Street. Since everything was in very tight, I parked the 70-200 at the hotel. If I were going elsewhere - I'd lug it with it me. Especially on a helo ride over the Grand Canyon.

Don't forget a circular polarizer and/or neutral density filters. That desert sun is harsh.
