Sorry but I don't see any difference other than one being closer to the tree. What were you trying to accomplish?
 
It's a different angle and the shadow is in the shot.
 
I like the first one, but its too close to the frame IMO, move it to the left a bit, and maybe it would make a good mono?
 
Good job of going back ... and even better job of showing the before and after.

The reshoot went well.
 
Robert, the lighting is exactly the same in both. Thank you Mulewings:wink:
 
To me, the first one looks like it is lit directly from the right, while the second one looks like it is slightly farther away from the camera shooting at a diagonal... That's why the shadows are different, no?
 
I only moved positions. The lighting is exactly the same because it's like a floodlight on a telephone pole, it just comes on at night for no reason and it lights the tree up quite nicely. All I did was move back and to the right a bit for the second shoot. The original was a 30 second exposure and the other was 25 seconds.
