    I like the second. A little much sky in both I think.

    A pity the snow does not show in the second photo, I think. Would have made it really interesting.

    The first has a lovely sky. Was it at sunrise or at sunset?
    I think I would have preferred the normal "landscape format", i.e. a horizontal photo, so the two trees would fit into the frame ... plus there's just a bit too much sky here, als Walter (abraxas) is also saying.

    Thanks for your comments.

    The 1st photo was taken at sunset. The problem is that to the left of the frame is a telegraph pole & to the right is a house, so unfortunately a horizontal shot is out of the question!

    As for the snow, well it was freezing and really coming down and I wasn't going to hang around and wait for it to settle :D

    I will have a go at cropping them to see if that improves things.
