I've wanted to be photographer for a few years now. I've finally decided to pursue it. I know almost nothing about photography and would like to learn, I am currently camera-less and am hoping that is going to change with your guys' help deciding.

  2. Glad to help!

First thing I suggest is read through the old threads here on this forum. So many people come on here to ask for equipment advice that you may as well see what was discussed. Think about what you're going to want to shoot, and what your budget is.

First, welcome to the TPF. And second I can't give you any better advise that that of Flatline. There is a huge wealth of info here just for the reading. Good luck and again, welcome aboard.

Nothing better than getting experience. Just get a camera, set it to manual and keep shooting. After you do this, just try to critique your own work. You can use magazines for that. Basically try to get your pics looking similar.
