Taken with a Canon Rebel EOS. 28-80mm w/ automatic settings (I'm a newbie when it comes to manual stuff...just now learning)

Has the potential to be a nice shot... however its very soft and/or out of focus not to mention dark.

Did you record what settings you used? (good idea when you start learning)

Also was this taken inside?

bravo; i like the soft focus (the lines are clean so i can tell that it is in focus).

exposure appears to be 'on' to me; is your monitor calibrated correctly?

nice work.

Settings? Yeah. Automatic. Like I said I'm still learning the manual stuff. I did one manual and one automatic of this shot and let's just say the manual didn't look like anything. Just colorful blurs. LOL. Yes it was taken inside. And in reference to your "soft" comment: It is not out of focus because, like one of the other people said, you can see the lines of the leaves. :)

The soft focus works here for sure. Nicely framed. Most Flower shots tend to isolate the flower against an unfamiliar background wich is not how we usually see them. I like this.
