I agree, barbedwire is kinda... meh.

That being said, sometimes you have to try what has been established so you have parameters to hone your technical skills before you spread your wings and attempt to find your creative voice.

As long as you were not trying to wow us with something original, which I am sure you weren't, then I think it's a wonderful piece.

PS-> JSD, how would you change the composition? Just curious as to how it could be more interesting.

I think the shot is nicely composed, and it has a good variety of in and out of focus. The background is a bit distracting. Perhaps that should be smoother.
